Job Title: Toronto Native History Project Mapping Archivist & Data Collection Trainee
Description
The Toronto Native Community History Project (TNCHP) is looking for a motivated, community-oriented Aboriginal individual for a 1-year, full-time, contract position involving the creation of a digital, web-based Indigenous map of Toronto. The successful candidate will work with Aboriginal community members, TNCHP staff, and project partners to collect and convert media and historical, archaeological and oral data to be included in the mapping project. The position will commence on August 20, 2012 and end August 15, 2013.
Responsibilities
The successful applicant will work 35 hours per week at the TNCHP located within the Native Canadian Centre of Toronto (NCCT) and will be expected to carry out the following tasks:
